Lightful new year!

Last night we climbed on a small hill with a group of dear friends to see how people around us celebrated the change of the new year. It is impossible to see and know everything this year will bring.

It will definitely bring various kind of situations. But for sure also some challenges. No one can know for sure if the year will be rather easy or more one bringing mountains to climb over.

But in midst of everything, there are some constants that remain, and which make it possible to see light in midst of all storms, joys, battles and disappointments.

I love the attitude of apostle Paul. The way he writes about his life, goals and his constants in life is amazing. That man suffered. He paid a high price for following what he believed in.

When he prayed for others, he reveals what he knows to be true also for himself - and that changes the focus from suffering to joy, rejoicing, and living a life worth of it all. These are some things I wish we all will allow to enourage us in 2019 (from Colossians 1):

- We can be filled with the knowledge of God's will, so we can live a life that pleases God. This makes us to 'bear fruit' in good works and it allows us to get to know God better.

- We can be strengthened with all power that He has, and that leads us to endure whatever may come, and remain joyful (!).

- This joy is connected with us thanking God for what He has given to us and others who know Jesus; we have an inheritance, which is not a small one. We have been transferred away from darkness to the kingdom of his beloved son Jesus. In Him we 'have redemption, the forgiveness of sins' (v. 14).

Then Paul continues to describe Jesus. To show how wonderful and amazing He is. How powerful he is.

May 2019 be a year, where you and I will get to know him more, to understand the depth of His love a bit better, and keep a thankful attitude because we are forgiven. The darkness has been changed into light, which is independent of our life circumstances. Because Jesus is as wonderful as he is!

God bless your 2019, whatever it may bring. He remains constant!

Thank you, Jesus!
